Giving Tuesday Campaign: Double the Impact for Ethiopian Girls!

 Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we approach Giving Tuesday, my wife, Weyni Tekleab, and I are reaching out with an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young Ethiopian girls. We founded the Ethiopian Girls’ Bright Future Fund (EthioGBFF) to empower these girls through education, and your support has always been the cornerstone of our mission. 

Our Journey and Inspiration

1981, I arrived in the U.S. with dreams and values rooted in resilience and compassion. Together with a dedicated professor in Ethiopia, we began by sponsoring ten remarkable young female college students from impoverished backgrounds in remote areas of Ethiopia. However, the reality of seeing six more deserving students turned away due to limited funds was a powerful motivator for us to expand our efforts. 

Our Ambitious Goal: Double the Scholarships

This Giving Tuesday, we are launching a campaign to double our scholarship participants from 10 to 20. This bold move is driven by the urgent need to support more young girls who aspire to break free from the cycle of poverty and become leaders in their communities. 

How You Can Help

Your contribution is crucial in achieving this goal. A donation of $20 per month per participant can provide essential school materials and hygiene products, giving these girls the tools they need to succeed. We are currently accepting donations for our scholarship program.
